  • Pyrus cordata, the Plymouth Pear, is a wild species of pear belonging to the Rosaceae family.
    It is a small tree, often found growing in hedgerows or at the edge of woods.

  • Very small. Good in liquour.

  • Inmune to:
    - Pear decline
    - Fire blight
    - Nectria galligena

  • As rootstock:
    - excellent compatibility for all kind of pears (even asian pears).
    - very drough tollerance
    - doesn't mind watter logged soils
    - real dwarfing: 60%
    - excellent anchorage


    Prefers a good well-drained loam in full sun. Grows well in heavy clay soils. Tolerates light shade but does not fruit so well in such a position. Tolerates atmospheric pollution, excessive moisture and a
    range of soil types if they are moderately fertile. Established plants are drought tolerant.
    Plants are hardy to about -15°c.
